I am now on my second pair of these boots, the first bought two and a half years ago. That might not seem like a long time but I put them through hell so it's actually good going. I have a very active dog and every day is two walks in every kind of terrain, mud and salt water.The foot is covered in a waterproof layer and though the padding around the ankle isn't waterproof it can handle rain or splashes without it soaking through and getting wet feet. The boots are fully lined with synthetic wool that keep my feet warm (even with raynards). They take a couple of weeks to relax and fit comfortably, so if the lining feels a little tight at first I do recommend giving them some time to wear in.
