Let me start by saying I have been wanting these for months and finally got them on Prime day. I've never been more excited to unbox a pair of boots in my life. My joy, quickly turned to shoe heartbreak. I was, to say the least shocked to see the actual design of the shoe in person. I was completely thrown off because in no way, shape, or form did they depict the attocity that was the back of these in any pic or review (because if they had, I would not have coveted these for 6 months, nor would I have ordered them).I will say they weren't 100% awful. The fit was great and they are comfortable and extremely light weight, surprising light weight.The front of the boot and color scheme was perfect, however, the back of this boot is horrendous. Literally looks like a space suit shoe. It sticks out an awful amount that it is an eye sore, and does not look like it goes with the rest of the shoe design. Looks more like you are about to explore the solar system instead of your local park, or nature trail, or picking up dog poop while walking Sharkbait(that's my dog's name) around town. I'm talking think Kanye, his crazy shoes, how impractical his designs are and that's the back of these. If you even remotely clipped your heal on, let's say, a rock, you're gonna face plant, scuff up your arms, look like a ding dong all because the heels of these stick out 2 inches. Sadly packing them up and sending them back. I'll give them an A for entertainment sake because me and my friend got a good laugh out of them, that was after I cried from devastation.I have 5 to 6 pairs of Sorel's ranging from boots to sneakers. I was very excited for this athletic/hiking shoe hybrid to have something more lightweight for hiking in the Smokies. Did not have to break these in at all and hiked in them on my 4th time wearing them. You have to wear above the ankle (crew) socks so they do not rub your ankles. Good ankle support and comfy. Going down hill for almost 2.5 miles I did experience rubbing on my big toes but thankfully no blisters. I would give these a 5 but the right toe guard is already coming away from the sole and I have only worn them 4 times with probably 14 miles of trail wear total. Glad I did not pay the full Sorel pricetag.Wore these boots on a hiking trip to Iceland. So soft and comfortable on my tired feet. I was not able to wear them up the glacier because the crampon didn’t grip well to the heel, but compared to the boots I wore on the glacier these are like walking on pillows. Love them!I wanted to love these for shorter hikes. I like them, but they are definitely not the most comfortable. They fit, I did go a half size larger than my normal running shoes, but I found my toes get almost like a numb feeling after about an hour.I ended up returning. I’m an 8.5-9. Got the 8.5 since my other Sorel boots are 9s and huge! These were way tight. Like 7.5-8, guessing. FYI!So incredibly well made. Grab them while you can on sale! These will last you many years in the rain and snow.I had been looking into this boot for a couple of weeks and decided to treat myself for my birthday. They are very cute.I own other Sorel shoes and was very excited when they arrived; however, I noticed a huge, very visible, mark on one of the shoes as soon as I opened the box. I checked to see if was one of those superficial marks, caused by something brushing against the sueded area of the shoe - but unfortunately, no. So these are being returned. This is the only reason I am not keeping them though - so I do recommend them for a cute athletic boot-type of sneaker.Loved them. Stylish and fun.
